Main innovation
A finish that stops or inhibits the growth of the COVID virus.
Demand covered or opportunity created
The need appeared with the pandemic of SARS-CoV-2 and ADRASA rapidly understood that they could profit their know-how to create a finish to reduce the virus spread.
Innovation process
The innovation process took approximately six months. The process, which started with a finish with antibacterial properties that they were already producing, had several phases: understanding the problem, analysing the weapons they already had, formulating a solution, carrying out different tests and obtaining certificates.
Investments
The company invested 20.000 euros in testing the solution. ADRASA's laboratory, the R&D department and the textile application department were involved in the project.
Results
The market response has been really successful, and the demand of this new finish is growing. Not only their traditional customers are interested in that finish, but also people in the next step of the supply chain.
Future
The company is working in a process that saves a lot of water and reduces the use of hazard chemicals. Their target is to propose textile solutions with a clear improvement in terms of sustainability and respect to the environment.
